Dear Mr. Higgins

I hope you are well. I am Jim Finlayson's younger daughter Debbie and I am writing to thank you for helping mom and dad to transport the dinner service from Durban to Perth last year.The dinner service is a family piece of great sentimental value - it was given to mom by her brother in the early 1950s. It is a Poole pottery service and the factory has now closed so it is difficult to replace plates and things if they break. The dinner service has travelled from Liverpool to Africa ( and around Africa as dad and moved!) and now to Australia. 

It was the "good" service that came out at Christmas and on special occasions such as Christenings and graduation dinners. You always new you were in for a good party when mom pulled out the green plates! Over years mom and dad's grandchildren and their great grandchildren have had the pleaseure of sharing good food and great frienships at mom's table - and they too have grown to know granny's "good" service. 

When I asked my daughter to collect the dinner service from the Perth depot the first thing she said was ," Oh you mean the good green one we only got to use at Christmas?" She had to unpack it at customs and messaged me afterward to say that it was all in one piece and how gorgeous it was!! WE used it this Christmas here in far away Perth with mom and dad's granchildren and one of the youngest of theie great grandchildren. It looked fabulous and connected us in one small way again with the people we love who now live so far away.

I attach a picture of it at our Christmas table! I would like to thank you for your kindness in helping mom and dad to get this service to me here in Australia. It means a lot to us and will continue to be a treasure in our family. I would also like to thank you and the company for the expert packaging and passage - it has arrived unscathed on its new continent.These articles you move around the world with such care and attention carry the stories of the people who own and use them. It is good to know that these storeis are in such good hands.

Russel Chappe-Focus Management Project

As project managers of the King Shaka Airport Transfer Project, we confirm that we selected Pickford to relocate the overall majority of the furniture, fixtures, documentation and equipment from the old Durban International Airport to the new King Shaka International Airport, approximately 57km in distance.

Pickfords was responsible for the relocation of 14 ACSA Departments and the majority of the airport stakeholder companies, with an overall estimated total volume of over 100 thousand cubic feet of inventory. This was carried out over a 1 month period preceding the opening of the airport on the 1st May 2010. The Airports Company of South Africa imposed an extremely high risk profile on the project from a time, cost, potential damage to equipment and ultimately a reputation perspective.

Pickfords carried out their duties in a highly professional, organised and efficient manner; meeting every deliverable on time, on budget and damage free. Focus Project Management can confirm the project was an overall success and is proud to have partnered with Pickfords in such a momentous project.

My huisraad is veilig hier besorg op ‘n baie professionele wyse. Ek is nie bewus van ‘n enkele item wat beskadig is of verlore geraak het nie. As ek een van die span kan uitlig om spesiaal te loof dan is dit Eliah wat op ‘n kalm en vriendelike wyse die Pickfords span en ons gesin deur die proses gevat het. Ook jy was altyd hulpvaardig en vinnig om te reageer op vrae. Ek het reeds my werkgewer, wat vir die trek betaal het, hieroor ingelig.
