Demonstrating Pickfords’ ongoing support and involvement in South Africa’s cycling community, Pickfords Durban’s Branch Manager, Martin De la Rey, recently completed the challenging 3-day, 263km Sani2C mountain bike race in Kwa-Zulu Natal.

The Sani2C trail route took competitors from its start at Glencairn Farm in Himeville along the famous Sani Pass road, down the Drakensberg Mountains and through the spectacular Umkomaas Valley.

The race ended on Day 3 with a fast – with speeds up to and over 60km/h – drop to the finish line on the coast, on Scottburgh Main Beach.

Out of 750 teams competing (including 12 riders all the way from Singapore), Martin and his riding partner Shaun Michael Heinze finished a very respectable 136th in the Veterans Men category!

“I would just like to thank Pickfords Removals South Africa for making it possible for us to participate in one the most desirable races in the world.”

– said Martin enthusiastically after the race.

Well done Martin and Shaun, Pickfords thanks you for representing our brand so dynamically!
